Sony TC-K22 This machine was exhibiting regular large speed fluctuations. Additionally a loud pulsing noise in time with the speed variation was present in the audio. The motor circuit board on the back of the transport was checked over. Nothing found amiss except that some of the glue that the Japanese love to plaster over everything was found over several circuit board tracks. This was removed and the unit powered up. Everything found to be OK. This glue is a real curse. With age the stuff becomes conductive and can cause all manner of problems. |
